You've got mail!

Other than Netflicks and bills we rarely get anything in the mail. So we were ecstatic when we received a package from home. My domestic brother-in-law, Matt, made us these rad mugs in ceramics. Robert also scored a sweet Alta High School Champion sweatshirt. Thanks Matt for the sweatshirt. Robert wears it ALL the time. I should probably wash it soon :) Denice, thanks for the candy, I am sure it tasted great but I wouldn't know because it was gone before I got home ... thanks hunny... NOT!!

Here, Robert is showing off his cool sweatshirt next to our African mask friend "Bubba".

Reading Rainbow

I can always tell how much I like my current book by how many subway stops I pass before realizing I passed my stop. Well after reading this book I almost lost my job from consecutive tardies and Robert sent search teams out for me several nights…… obviously, not really but I am trying to make a point of how truly amazing this book is. It paints a perfect picture of an immigrant’s life in the early 1900’s. I am sad the book is over.. maybe I'll read it again ?!?

Memories are Precious

My aunt Arlene has been going through my grandma's old pictures and she sent me this picture she found. It's crazy, I sear I remember my grandma taking this picture. It seems like yesterday. I can still remember the smell of that old piano and remember my grandma's contagious laugh. Good memories but really bad hairdo!

Rachel Rae

For our work Christmas party a bunch of teachers got together and learned the Beyonce “Single Ladies” dance (I went to the first practice but couldn’t shake it like those girls). Somebody taped the dance and put it on YouTube and word has it that Rachel Rae saw the video and asked them to perform on her show. Our school has been excited about our claim to fame. So check it out on at http://www.rachaelrayshow.com/ under single ladies dance off. They totally should have won!

Ballet at its best!

I guess Robert got the hint that I needed a romantic night on the town because he bought us tickets to the NYC Ballet. They were cheap student tickets, so our seats weren’t impressive but they got the job done. The performance was incredible. I watched their beautiful leaps and turns and (as every girl does) wished I was the ballerina on stage. Mean while Robert was studying the back of his eyelids.

After the performance it was fun to watch all the girls, young and old reminisce in their ballet days, do turns and leaps out of the theatre. I tried a couple of leaps but Robert was embarrassed and said that he wouldn’t walk by me if I continued to dance.

All in all it was a very culturing experience and motivated both of us to embrace New York’s culture more often.So.... Thank you Robert for taking the hint, and thank you New York City ballerinas for being so talented.
